Pre-Columbian, Maya Territories, Honduras/El Salvador, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A Copador bowl with of rounded form with steep walls and an unpronounced rim, finely painted on the exterior with two swimming figures, representing the Hero Twins, beneath a broad band of pseudo-glyphs, all painted in hues of red, orange, and black on a cream ground. Size: 6.25" W x 3.3" H (15.9 cm x 8.4 cm)

Condition

Repaired from five or possibly six pieces, with repairs very well done and difficult to see. No overpaint or added clay. Motifs are in great condition and interior has excellent root marks. Old collection numbers handwritten and stickers on the underside.
