Title: 18thC KPM Berlin Porcelain Teapot, Flower Decoration. 1763-1780 Additional Information: An early KPM Berlin porcelain teapot, plain white ground with relief decoration and hand painted front and back with an unfussy collection of flowers, including carnation, viola/pansies, yellow bellflower, forget-me-not & others which I'm unable to even take a stab at identifying.
The Sceptre mark on the base is a bit blobby and blurred, but the closest match I can find dates this pot to approximately 1763-1780. This is backed up by another pot I found in the same shape, which was auctioned at Christies and dates to the earlier end of this time period see link below;
( https://www.christies.com/lotfinder/Lot/a-berlin-kpm-rococo-teapot-and-cover-4944191-details.aspx ) .
The dimensions are; 20 cm Wide and 13 cm High
The Lid has some damage, namely that the finial has been lost at some point and another added, which is a pity, because the flower finial is so much more attractive than this little knob.
There is also a nick to the rim of the teapot.
An interesting specimen piece for a collector of early Berlin ceramics.
