Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A lovely cast-bronze dagger with a flared pommel, a lightly-corseted handle with recessed slots for inlays of bone or stone, miniscule guard prongs, and an elongated blade with a shallow midrib and sharpened edges. The weapon is covered in fine layers of brown and green patina, though areas of the original golden-brown bronze color are visible in some exposed areas. Size: 1.55" W x 13.2" H (3.9 cm x 33.5 cm).
