Near East, Persian Empire, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A wonderfully illustrated page from a book, probably a book of poems. One side depicts several lines of Arabic script in a neat rectangular form, with areas of smaller text in the margins, and some lines underlined in red. The verso displays a well-drawn image of two fully-clothed men chasing a woman, nude except for a flowing green textile, while bathing or relaxing in a small pool. Two lines of Hebrew text rest above the image, one outside of the brown-colored backdrop and one within. Custom frame included. Size of page: 6.125" W x 9.75" H (15.6 cm x 24.8 cm); size of frame: 11" W x 15" H (27.9 cm x 38.1 cm).
