A choice pale purplish Roman glass sprinkler flask, c. 3rd Century AD, mold blown, the body with raised concentric circles, the lightly indented bottom with vertical grooves within parallel lines, the cylindrical neck with constricted base, mouth flared wide internal groove just inside the outward folded rim. Nice purplish-orange color with brilliant flashes of iridescence amidst dark mineral deposits. H: 4 1/2 in (11.4 cm). A very handsome example with much eye appeal! Ex Superior Coin & Stamp, January 1979.
