Design for one of four massive vases for the Stade du Parc Lescure (now the Stade Chaban-Delmas), Bordeaux. Twelve preparatory drawings were completed
one is in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, two are in private collections, and the other nine are being offered in this sale. The vases were completed in 1937 and remain outside the stadium today.


Several tears from edges (longest approx curving 9") and one long crease from right margin almost to left margin approx. halfway down sheet. One minor 1/4" x 1/2" loss near toe. Not examined out of frame. Framed behind Plexiglas, re-framing recommended. Some scuffs/scratches to Plexi.
