Ken R.. Watson was born in Clinton, Oklahoma in 1933 and started his art career while serving as an illustrator in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Professor Watson taught on the faculties of Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma, Oregon College of Art, Ashland, Oregon, Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma, Rose State College, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Ken is widely known for his paintings depicting the Great Southwest.
Ken was on the staff of Mary Worth Comics from 1972 -1978.
He was also a featured artist in the book "Western Painting Today" by Royal B. Hassrick.
He has won numerous awards, including The Governor's Accommodation Award for Western Painting, (Oklahoma), Honorary Member of Los Artesanos Unidos of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Who's Who in American Universities andColleges. Ken is associated with many galleries and private collectors throughout the United States and abroad.
Ken has held extensive workshops in Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Ken is also widely sought after as a professional judge in all fine art categories.
Dr. Watson was the private instructor for the late actor Doug McClure.
