Robert Nelson II, Esq. was admitted to the bar at Gray's Inn, Co. Middlesex on March 11th, 1631, married Mary, the third daughter of Sir John Temple of Stantonbury, Kent. Nelson died in Sept 1696.
Records indicate these paintings were in the possession of Miss Alida Boyland (1833-1898) of Boston, as of 1894, as recorded in "The Descent of John Nelson and His Children" by Temple Prime of Huntington, NY.
