Rare 18th century quarter chiming mahogany tall clock, signed on brass pendulum SERIL DODGE 1789. Has 8 day brass 8 bell movement with 3 trains. Metal dial with brass moon phases signed WARRANTED FOR ROBERT LAWTON, NEWPORT. This clock was featured in the 2017 book MUSICAL CLOCKS OF EARLY AMERICA by Gary Sullivan (included in sale). Clock has fine mahogany case with fretwork on hood and is 90 inches tall by 20 wide by 10 deep. Very good condition, has not been tested. Comes with weights and pendulum. (Seril Dodge, Providence RI clockmaker 1759-1802).
