An elegant, restrained example exhibiting superior workmanship, likely made for a Murid serving under Shamyl during the Caucasian Wars (1817-1859.) The dark horn grip with steel bosses superbly inlaid with silver, the long, finely-forged blade with precision fullering and tapering tip. In its leather-covered scabbard with en suite silver-inlaid suspension band, the tip lacking. First half of the 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 54.5cm. Condition IV
