Shaw, Sarah H. (Pittsburgh/American, died 1962), Western Pennsylvania winter landscape, oil on board, unsigned, 12 by 14 1/2 inches, in a bronze finished frame measuring 17 by 19 inches. Provenance: Family of the artist by descent. Part of the founding family of Glenshaw, Shaw studied at Wells College, the Carnegie Library School and at the University of Pittsburgh, plus she studied with George Sotter at the Carnegie Institute and with George Oberteuffer at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and at the Art Students League. She was a member of the Pittsburgh Art Association, the Rockport Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy and Allied Artists of Johnstown. She exhibited at the Studio Club in New York City, Salons of American, Society of Independent Artists, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and other venues.
