The Tlingit relief carved pipe circa the mid 19th century in the form of a Orca whale with bone teeth, abalone shell eyes and accents, the pipe bowl crafted from the end of a trade musket barrel, the hardwood probably repurposed gun stock. The piece showing appropriate patina and evidence of use including residue within the bowl. The bone teeth yellowed from smoke exposure, the wood having absorbed the smoke smell over the years.
