An original Field Press Printed Broadside, 3.5" x 10.75", "Head Quarters, Wheeler's Cavalry Corps, March 11, 1863, General Order, No. 4". Being a list of ten regulations for declaring a soldier a deserter. Reads in part: "All men who are considered deserters will be arrested... Any enlisted man, found one mile from camp...will be considered a deserter... Any officer... who absents himself... for three roll calls in one day... will be arrested..." The print is soft and somewhat light due to shortage of ink and overall slight toning to the printed text. Desertion was a constant problem for both sides during the war.
