large tray of fanciful flowers against a dark ground, undulating flower and vine border, later cotton binding and burlap backing, shirred details on hooked background, wool on burlap, American, possibly Maine, circa 1860-1880, 88 x 50 in. Good condition, slight fading, scattered small repairs, grime, not examined under backing. Provenance: Deanne Levison Antiques, Atlanta, Georgia, 1985. Illustrated in Elizabeth D.
