Jean-Jacques Rene (Born in 1943, French contemporary artist) is known for his pared back beach and cafe scenes distinguished by his atmospheric use of color and by a lightness of touch that captures fleeting moments and sensations. His style is unique and his work is instantly recognizable. He was awarded the David Weill Prize in 1971.
