COMPLETE SERVICE FOR 12, ANTIQUE FLATWARE, CIRCA 1850? . Eduard Foehr was court jeweler to the King of Wurttemberg. This set was likely made by Foehr and presented to the either the King or someone in the King's court sometime after 1891. Extensive research was done and we did not find any FOEHR flatware sets that had these handles. PLEASE VIEW THIS LOTS PICTURES OR AT THE PREVIEW AND MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS AS TO THE HANDLES ARE. The box is marked what looks like E. FOHR, that German O being OE. The set is complete. The box is original. Foehr appears to be either in business in Stuttgart 1835-1904 or those were the dates during which he lived. The 13 mark on this set.... 13 loth = 812/1000....and that is a mark on silver and verdu (gold) finish. This is GOLD FINISH. A little more on this king......William II was the last King of Württemberg. He ruled from 6 October 1891 until the abolition of the kingdom on 30 November 1918. Born: February 25, 1848, Stuttgart, Germany....Died: October 2, 1921, Bebenhausen, Germany..I HAVE FOUND ADS FOR EDUARD FOEHR IN STUTTGART DATED 1888 AND 1893.
