THE ARTWORK OF LOUIS C TIFFANY, Antique, printed 1914, sold at auction in 2011 for $1,500.00. Printed by Doubleday, Garden City N.Y. 1914. [Charles de Kay] embossed colored vellum boards, one of 492 copies printed on Japan paper, with 20 tipped-in color plates and 42 photogravures with lettered tissue guards. Original publisher's binding of embossed, enameled and gilt red vellu. Beautiful copy. ONE OF 492 COPIES ON JAPAN PAPER FOR PRIVATE PRESENTATION!!!! Large-scale plates, 21 are tipped-in and in color. The binding's embossed squares connect visually to Tiffany's work in metal, stained glass, jewelry and textiles. This book was included in the Cooper Hewitt 2016 exhibit "Passion for the Exotic: Louis Comfort Tiffany and Lockwood de Forest". Tiffany was an Art Nouveau and Aesthetic Movement designer in every medium of the decorative arts. Most of the rare booksellers, if they even have this work, have it for sale for $6,000.00.
