Three typed letters: two from Lenny Bruce to Alan Ribback, on Bruce's memo letterhead (unsigned carbon file copies); one from Alan Ribback to Lenny Bruce, on The Gate Horn letterhead, signed Alan.
Bruce writes: . "I'm sure to get busted...if the Mafia can flourish there, a cop's promotion would be no sweat. I'm liberal and all for advances - but just for niggers, not Irish people. ... if this is to [sic] abstract for you, I'll draw pictures for you and have you beaten up, Kikeo!" .... Horn offers to have Bruce appear on a CBS radio show to publicize the engagement. Bruce responds: "...and only for one thin dime, a 10th of a dollaaaah....if the people see the geek on T.V., they will not pay money to see him in a club and 25% of my audience are curiosity seekers. I will not do any interviews with any newspapermen, magazines, radio and T.V. [You] can do a great service by structuring the refusals in a delightful manner so as not to offend. Sotto-vocce - 'He may yell mother-fucker anytime - he won't care if it's radio.!"
