A large Euboean or Cypriot skyphos, late 8th Century BC, with pad foot and two horizontal handles, the wide flat rim adorned with groups of vertical lines in dark brown slip, the interior and exterior decorate with wide bands in dark brown slip as well. W: 3 1/4 x 9 3/4 in (8.9 x 24.8 cm). Light deposits. A very well-preserved and impressive example! Ex UK private collection acquired from Herakles Numismatics and Antiquities, Munich in early 2000's; previously belonging to a German private collection formed in the 1970's.
