A cute Jalisco seated coatimundi rattle, West Mexico, 100 BC - AD 250, depicted chubby with rounded body and short legs, the head is well-modeled, and the front legs hold food to its mouth. 3 1/4 in x 3 in (8.3 x 7.6 cm). Burnished red over tan slip and in great condition! Ex Southern California private collection acquired in the 1970's.
