14K yellow gold case, caseback elaborately monogrammed in the Edwardian manner, start/stop button for chronograph in crown, case and movement numbered 105174, dial and movement signed "W. K. Vanderslice & Co. / San Francisco", lever movement with bi-metallic balance, manual wind, jeweled, adjusted. White enamel dial, black Arabic numerals, black outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6, blued steel spade hands, black center chronograph hand. Lever-set mechanism: the small lever on the case must be gently lifted, and then the crown can be raised to adjust the hands. Generally very fine, some rubs to case, one chip and several hairline cracks to dial. Size: 50mm.
W. K. Vanderslice & Co. (1858-1908) was one of San Francisco's foremost jewelers and silversmiths of the Barbary Coast era.
