This rare high quality fine baby lamb wool is a custom made and seems to be woven for a specific mansion in Iran. Since many well-off Iranians had no other choice to flee the country after its 1979 revolution in order to save their lives, many of these unique rugs ended up in market and then exported abroad. This royal beige vegetable dyed semi antique Persian Kerman is one of those rugs according to its characteristics. This master hand woven open field, centered intricately detailed floral medallion rug is made of 100% baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation could not be compared to any other rug even its counterparts in the same category. It is being finished with a beautiful floral designed edge as most of the high-end Kerman rugs are. Kerman hand woven rugs are one of the best available rugs in the market as the city located in central part of Iran was and still is a major center for the production of high-quality rugs in the world. Kerman became the hub of the design of hand-woven rugs during Safavid dynasty and was at the center of attention for years.
