In the Manner of Claude Michel, known as Clodion (French, 1738-1814), late 19th century patinated and gilt bronze mounted figural marble mantel clock, depicting a bust of a laughing satyr wearing a crown of grapes and having his ear tugged by a mischevious putto, who sits astride a while marble column holding a tambourine and mask, possibly as an allegory to drama, the column with a clock face surmounting an acanthus mount, leading to a conforming base where a young satyr sits holding fruit clusters, the whole rising on four bronze feet, 22"h x 7.5"w x 7"d.
