A late Victorian sterling silver mounted Moroccan leather letter / stationary compendium, Chester 1898 by James Deakin & Sons
Of rectangular form with a curved front. The silver mount with a central vacant cartouche reserved in C scrolls and rocaille, against lattice work a foliate scrolls with floral populated with cherubs carrying torches and bows and arrows, birds, squirrels and an owl. Leather exterior, the interior with graduated letter compartments with fabric lining. Fully marked to front.
