NEW ENGLAND PAINTED PINE MULE CHEST, rectangular one-board snipe-hinged top with applied battens, nailed case with open well, over two full thumbmolded drawers, cut-outs on the solid ends. Retains a blue-painted surface over possibly original red. Late 18th/early 19th century. 37" H, 37 1/2" W, 18 1/4" D.
Very good overall condition with expected areas of usage wear. Brasses probably replaced in original drillings.
Provenance: The Jack and Tommie Marsh collection, Columbia, SC.
