SOUTHERN STONEWARE PITCHER, alkaline-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with rounded rim, lightly beaded neck and shoulder rings, having strap handle with thumb-pressed lower terminal. Fourth quarter 19th/first quarter 20th century. 9" H, 4 3/4" D rim.
Undamaged, except having roughness to spout. Firing imperfections, including small rim separation and several glaze pops, as made.
Provenance: The Jack and Tommie Marsh collection, Columbia, SC.
