EMERSON & SILVER U.S. MODEL 1860 CIVIL WAR CAVALRY SABER AND SCABBARD, brass three-branch guard with helmet pommel and a brass-wire wrapped leather grip, bearing inspector's mark "DFM" to pommel, blade marked to ricasso reverse "U.S. / DFM / 1863", and "EMERSON / & / SILVER / TRENTON / N.J." to obverse, retains leather washer. Appropriate iron two-ring scabbard. Emerson & Silver, Trenton, New Jersey. Dated 1863. Saber 41" LOA, blade 35" L.
Bright blade with some very light corrosion to finish, grip is intact with some light wear, scabbard with one dent and overall corrosion/rust.
