LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA CHASED STERLING SILVER PUNCH LADLE, having a shaped bowl with bright-cut engraved designs of flowers and diaperwork on a floral chased handle. Impressed "Sterling" and "H. SILVERTHORN" marks for Henry Silverthorn of Lynchburg, VA (active 1831-1835; 1837-1897), who also worked in Baltimore, MD (active 1825-1830; 1835-1837) and opened branch in Roanoke, VA (c.1890). Total weight: 6.085 ozt. Second half 19th century. 13" L.
