KUTCHINSKY - a 1960s 18ct gold turquoise, lapis lazuli and diamond brooch. Designed as a graduated scroll, the brilliant-cut diamond marquise-shape links, with textured, interwoven surrounds, to the scattered vari-shape turquoise and lapis lazuli cabochon terminals and highlights. Signed Kutchinsky. Estimated total diamond weight 0.65ct. Hallmarks for London, 1966. Length 6cms. Weight 30.1gms.


  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Some possible replacement stones.
  • Appears to be etched '2479.1' above the Kutchinsky signature.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds with some small light and dark inclusions under 10x magnification. One with small chip to the table.
  • Lapis lazuli are a slightly mottled medium to deep blue hue, with typical pyrite inclusions.
  • Turquoise are a medium light greenish blue hue, with some typical veining seen to the reverse of some.
  • Lapis lazuli and turquoise in good condition, with minor abrasions.
