Description
World War II era US Army Officer's Dress uniform. Includes black jacket with thick bullion cuff brad indicating General Officer, and black trousers with two thin stripes, also specific to Generals. Both pieces were specially tailored at the Cadet Store at West Point. Trousers are named "Gen. B. E. Moore" -- General Bryant E. Moore graduated the US Military Academy in the class of 1917, and later returned to serve as the Superintendent of West Point between World War II and Korea. He fought in World War I, World War II where he fought in both the European and Pacific theaters, as a commander in the 164th Infantry Regiment on Guadalcanal, then moved to the ETO where he commanded the 8th Infantry Division and oversaw the postwar occupation of Yugoslavia and Treste , and the Korean War he commanded the US Army IX Corps. He was awarded three Distinguished Service Medals and two Silver Star medals. The uniform is in good condition, with bright clear markings. The bullion material at the cuffs and legs is faded to some degree, with age, but no damage. Excellent
