3rd century BC-5th century AD. A mixed group of bronze brooches comprising: a Przeworsk culture brooch with deep bow and long coiled spring across the head, long angled catch; a Hallstatt fibula with with lozenge-section bow; a Frankish(?) radiate-headed bow brooch with ring-and-dot detailing; a Scandinavian bow brooch with three knops to the headplate. Cf. Beck, H. et al. Fibel und Fibeltracht, Berlin, 2000, item 97(13); 74(13); 122(4); table 27(3"). 73.6 grams total, 40-66mm (1 1/2 - 2 1/2"). From a private collection; previously in an old central Asian collection; acquired in the late 1940s. [4, No Reserve]
