4th-3rd millennium BC. A squat terracotta bowl with raised rim, painted band to the shoulder with lion, peepal leaf, zebu and geometric panel. 545 grams, 19cm (7 1/2"). From the property of a London gentleman; previously in the private collection of the late David Gold, formed 1970s. 'David Gold amassed a sizable collection of Indus Valley pottery, both vessels and figurative during his retirement, a plaque to David and his brother was recently unveiled by Westminster Council above 43 Carnaby Street, commemorating their business that made Carnaby Street synonymous with fashion in the 1960s.'
