Description
20TH CENTURY BLADES - RAZORS, SURGEON KIT, FLEAMS
To include: An early 20th Century Phleam or bloodletting surgical instrument by Joseph Rodgers & Co, of Sheffield, England. 1 3/4 inch (approx) blade measure from tip to start of forte. Horn handle. Stamped “ER” either side of a crown (Edward VII) and “J. Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield England” (Street name illegible). Stamped with Rodgers Maltese Cross and Starburst on reverse of forte. In leather sheath. Together with another, spear point with some tarnish and wooden handle. Also stamped with Rodgers information. No sheath. Two straight “cut throat” razors, the first of high quality made for Will & Finck of San Francisco, horn handle in excellent condition. Stamped “Finck’s blue steel Made in Germany” and “Made for Will & Finck”. In case. The second of Swedish origin, stamped “Erik Antonberg, Eskilstuna, Sweden” with the registered trademark of a shark on the blade and forte. Horn handle, one end AF. In red case. A good 19th Century (c. 1860’s) multi-layer pocket surgeon’s kit in original l leather pouch, complete with all tools, to include a scalpel and original silk surgeon’s thread. An unusual, rare and complete 19th Century “Solingia” multi-tool, comprising knife, match striker, nail file and scissors in original green velvet lined metal container; each tool hinged to protrude from the case which then doubles as a handle.
