English, circa 1810. A William Nickisson of New Castle, Georgian mahogany grandfather clock with broken arch pediment accented by brass scrolls with fluted support columns and Corinthian capitals, inlaid case with a gothic pendulum door flanked by fluted columns and rising by ogee feet. The en grisaille colored face having a ship/landscape image to the moon phase, allegorical representations of the four seasons to the spandrels, and figural cottage scene to the center, is marked "W. Nickisson - New Castle". Approx: h. 91", w. 21", d. 10".

Condition

Missing finial, small areas of in paint to clock face, 8" cracking of veneer to door surface, veneer loss to right side of lower case and hour hand to clock has been broken in half.
