DURGIN / GORHAM "FAIRFAX" STERLING SILVER FLATWARE, SET OF 17, pattern designed in 1910, comprising six teaspoons, one luncheon/dessert fork, two dinner forks, and eight dinner knives with stainless blades and hollow handles, each piece with engraved "R" initial to handle. Each with "STERLING" mark and "D" maker's mark for Durgin, which was sold to Gorham in 1905. Total weight excluding eight dinner knives: 10.030 ozt. First half 20th century. 5 3/4" to 9 5/8" L.
Very good to excellent overall condition with wear and surface scratches from use, some pieces with nicks to edges of bowls and tines; one teaspoon with minor dent to bowl; some knives with small dents to handles.
Provenance: From the Penelope Bogart Rodman estate, Williamsburg, VA.
