Pogach (1929 - 1996) Philadelphia, PA abstract impressionism measuring approx. ID 27 1/2" x 27 5/8", signed verso Pogach A Pogach 1929-1996 Philadelphia PA USA Pogach A Pogach 1929-1996 Philadelphia PA USA Pogach was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received a doctorate degree from La Sorbonne-the University of Paris. He conducted graduate studies at Temple University and St Joseph University. He also received a bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University, studied at La Grande Chaumiere in Paris and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Pogach was a sculptor, painter and educator. He is primarily known for his work in acrylic and iron sculpture. His style is that of American action-painting and abstract expressionism. Pogach studied for many years in Europe and particularly in Spain and France. He also worked out of his studio on Samson Street in Philadelphia where he enhanced his creativity, refined his technique and explored new media. His work is held in numerous private and public collections and has exhibited nationally and internationally.
