A LARGE JAPANESE IMARI PORCELAIN CHARGER, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), painted in traditional colors and centering a finely rendered waved textile panel depicting spread winged cranes flying above boulder cliffs over ducks swimming in a meandering stream and an ancient pine shading a pavilion before a distant hillside landscape, folding to a tree form reserve enclosing a phoenix bird perched amidst auspicious blossoming foliage, on a ground of various diapered textile patterns, within conforming borders of gilt trellis on cobalt blue ground, partially covering the circular body with sides of circular petaled mons of cranes and elaborate phoenix, on gilt flowering stems and peacock feather ground framed by a lozenge detailed rim. Height: 3 1/4" Diameter: 24"
