Tibet, 18th C., Thangka Depicting Shakyamuni Buddha, painted with the Shakyamuni Buddha seated in the center, hands held in dhyanamudra, supporting a lotus in his begging bowl, set against a lush landscape with scenes drawn from the Jataka tales. Overall Height 46 in., Width 23 in. Painting: Height 23 in., Width 16 in. Provenance: Sheila Tefft, who purchased from a friend of Ulaanbaatar Museum when lived in Mongolia from 1975 to 1985.
