H= 83cmThese monumental Alusi figures from the Ibo tribe of southeastern and Northern Nigeria represent their protective deity.The social importance of these items is demonstrated by their thick, encrusted patina, representing decades of votive offerings that include organic materials, as well as ochre and white pigments. There are some stable cracks in the wood, and parts of feet missing.H= 83cm
