Lot 0003 Details

Description
An old Luba figure with a painted number under the base (136,32)and old typewritten ticket (035)A remain of a charge on top of the head indicated it has been used for healing. The lower part of the figure has a lighter color of wood, indicating that it was probably originally attired with organic material of some sort. The upper part has a shiny surface, owing to extensive handling. This 27.5cm tall figure was originally in the Patric Claes collection, acquired while he was curator of the Kinshasa museum.
Condition
Condition is good, aged shiny layered patina, with a crack in the wood under the feet, remains of a charge on top.
