An imposing mask from the Grasslands of Cameroon, with interesting features including the leaf-shaped eyes and the ears in the shape of two hands. Large animals (such as bulls, leopards and elephants) were associated with power, and buffalo bull masks, worn on the top of the head, express and embody the resultant authority. A well used, old example, with extensive patination.Provenance: Millon, Paris. H= 50cm
