Lot 0051 Details
A big wooden ancestral figure from West Nepal, dating from the early to mid-20th century. This statue is probably from the Khas people, an Indo-Aryan tribe living in the Himalayan foothills of western Nepal. The standing figure stands on a round base, and has his hands together in the traditional Nepali "namaste" position for greeting and respect. H= 95cm
The figure shows wear and natural erosion due to being outside in wind and cold weather for a considerable period of time.
