Description
A fine oil on black velvet by Edgar Leeteg (American-French, 1904-1953) the "godfather" of velour painting. It's an image of a Polynesian woman putting on (or taking off) a patterned red sarong. Signed "Leeteg" in block letters in the lower left. Framed by Newman Galleries and mounted under glass to protect the work. From the collection of Albert J Raman; purchased in 1999 from Leeteg expert John Turner who in turn bought it from a elderly Leeteg collector (supporting documents included with this lot). Size: sight is 22" X 31", frame is 26" X 34.875".

Apparently fine, not examined out of frame
