Three bronze medallions. The first commemorating Jean le Rond d'Alembert by Nicolas Marie Gatteaux, dated 1785. The obverse depicting the nude bust of d'Alembert. The reverse with two laurel branches surrounding A L'IMMORTALITE on threelines. The second medallion commemorates Abbe Jean Paul Bignon, not signed or dated. The obverse depicting a bust of Bignon and the reverse showing Minerva standing. The third medallion commemorates Galileo Galilei byR. Caynard, dated1818. The obverse depicting a bust of Galileo in high relief, while the reverse reads NATUS PISIS IN ITALIA AN. M.D.LXIV OBIIT AN. M.DC.XLII . SERIES NUMISMATICA UNIVERSALIS VIRORUM ILLUSTRIUM.
