WELL PRESERVED BRONZE DRUM CIRCULAR TOP/FACE rare Vietnamese Bronze Drum Part of Dong Son culture. Dong Son drum is a bronze drum fabricated by the Dong Son culture in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam. The drums were produced from about 600 BCE or earlier until the third century CE; they are one of the culture's finest examples of metalworking. They were used for religious rituals praying for rain and also in used for wars. One can see the beautiful circular design on the surface of the drum (see pictures). An Extremely Rare and Magnificent Bronze Drum from Vietnam or Southern China dating to the Han Dynasty. The center of this drum face is the Sun surrounded by ten stars that make lines of sun rays, 10 rays from center to the outer part. The surrounding are the relief of deer and birds with human beings in a harmonious union or performing some kind of sacrificial ritual. The body of the drum is damaged because most of them were buried under the ground for thousand years. The drum in good condition considering the age of this rare historical and cultural artifact.
