Chinese Qing Dynasty chrysanthemum flori-form petal plate. Shallow curvature flaring upward to form the floral chrysanthemum rim, with lobed petal shaped surrounding the broad wide cavetto. Raised upon a slightly concaved wide foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the gilt and ruby-red fine color. The Inner center medallion adorned with Chinese calligraphy poems and seal mark reign. The outer rim carved with chrysanthemum flori-form petal, enclosed with thick gilt chrysanthemum flori form line. The Chrysanthemum is one flower where the color white gives it a positive meaning. Fresh green chrysanthemums represent nobility and elegance. They are also thought to attract good luck to the home and represent a life of ease. They are often used for offerings at altars. Chrysanthemums are also a favored gift for the elderly as they represent a strong life force. "Chrysanthemum is a treasured flower in China and is a symbol of joy and a wish for peaceful retirement. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.

Mark on under base, a six red script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, over gilt overglazed circle, Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
