PORTRAIT BELIEVED TO BE OF HENRY BUCK AUCHINCLOSS

Henry Buck Auchincloss (1836-1926) at age (9) by David Gaglier (1807-1873) of Florence, Italy dated 1845. Displayed in a period gold frame tested to 10k-14k with beveled glass and set into a modern carved wooden standing frame. 1 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches. framed 4 x 3 1/4 inches (overall). Together with a letter to Joseph R. Walker from "Copper King" Marcus Daly dated August 19th, 1873 reporting on the progress of mining operations. Letter to Walker Brothers, Salt Lake City dated March 8, 1876 to John and Hugh Auchincloss, A memorandum from John and Hugh Auchincloss to Walker Brothers Co. dated March 7, 1876. And a circa 1840 scrapbook pasted into an account book with a concentration of obituaries, social affairs and biographical concerns. Note: Walker Brothers of Salt Lake City sold out in 1899 to Rockefeller's Standard Oil and became Amalgamated Copper Mining Company.
