Louis XV-Style Ormolu-Mounted Black Chinoiserie and Marble-Top Commode
of bombe form, the serpentine variegated marble top over a pair of conforming drawers, the whole black-lacquered and with gilt chinoiserie decoration, with foliate and scroll-molded gilt ormolu mounts, the corners with shell- and leaf-carved mounts, raised on cabriole legs with gilt-bronze-mounted scroll feet.

**In overall very good condition, exhibiting nominal wear, rubbing and indications of age and use.
Tight and sturdy with no play in the legs. Drawers slide smoothly. Lock is present, but no key.
The marble top exhibits a professional repair.
