Nickel Plate Road #187 ALCO PA Life Like Proto 2000 21664 HO Scale. We see that the model is in the original box and packing. The Alco-GE PA streamlined diesel units were each powered with a 16 cylinder model 244 prime mover. The diesel engine drove a GE generator that powered axles 1, 3, 4 and 6 with GE 752 traction motors (commonly designated A1A-A1A). The result was a powerful 2,000 HP engine out producing by more than 500 HP than the EMD competition of the time. These 2000 HP streamlined diesel electrics were first delivered in 1947. Though not as numerous as the EMD E units, the PA units that were delivered by GE-Alco were popular amongst many roads. T42
