Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Sasanian (Sassanian / Sassanid) Empire, ca. 2nd to 7th century CE. A group of five stamp seals, each pierced laterally for suspension, all made from obsidian. One depicts a horse, one an ibex, one a rider on horseback, one an abstract avian figure, and one a figure with a sword. All could be worn as pendants. Size of largest: 0.74" W (1.9 cm)

Condition

All have some light wear commensurate with age. The one with the horseback rider motif is particularly clear; the others are still legible. Accompanied by a modern fired clay panel with impressions on it.
